CodeNL Code Club - Learn Scratch and Python for free!

Sunday, July 30, 2017 at 3:00-5:00pm
Location: Memorial University, room CS-1019

CodeNL's next Code Club is  Sunday, July 30th from  3:00 PM - 5:00 PM in the Computing Services building at Memorial University, room  CS-1019.

The Computing Services building is the small "temporary" building west of the Science building - number 16  on this map.

A Code Club is a regular meeting place where you can learn how to write code.Everyone is welcome to attend - both kids and adults!

The event is completely free - the only requirement is that participants below the age of 13 must be accompanied by an adult.

CodeNL will be using projects provided by  CodeClubWorld.org that have step-by-step guides to create animations, games, websites and much more. Attendees will build up their programming skills as they progress through the lessons.

They also have a variety of projects and teaching materials for those that have advanced beyond the Code Club lessons. If you'd like to work on your own project, we can help with that as well!

For those of you with laptops, CodeNL encourages you to bring them along. But don't worry, they are not required - there are plenty of computers available here to use.

Volunteers

We're looking for volunteers to help teach introductory programming. Any experience at all with programming is fine - you don't have to be an expert.

If you'd like to volunteer, we'd appreciate it if you could show up 30 minutes early, at  2:30 PM (in CS-1019, the same room). That can give us time to go over some guidelines, and review the material we'll be covering
