NATI Announces New Chief Executive Officer

(St. John's, NL)- Upon completion of a highly competitive process, the Newfoundland and Labrador Association of Technology Industries (NATI) is pleased to announce that effective today, Paul Preston will take on the role of Chief Executive Officer at the association.

"Paul has focused his career on the advancement of the technology sector, where he has led research, strategy and policy development for academia, industry and governments, and we are thrilled to welcome him to NATI as we embark on a new chapter," said NATI Chair Kendra MacDonald. "Under Paul's leadership, NATI will continue to respond to the needs of members by delivering programs and services that are relevant and member-focused, and help maximize the opportunity for growth in technology and innovation."

"The strong potential of the technology sector in Newfoundland and Labrador is clear, and so too is the critical role that NATI will play in working together with members and partners to maximize that opportunity," said NATI CEO Paul Preston. "This is an exciting time as we work to continue to grow the sector, support digital transformation and innovation happening across industries, and focus on building the local capacity we need to fuel these opportunities."

Paul comes to NATI from The Conference Board of Canada where he served as Director of Science, Technology and Innovation, leading a diverse team and delivering on a number of business and policy research centres, providing strategic advice and recommendations to industry, academia and governments focused on driving growth, competitiveness and organizational effectiveness. Before joining the Conference Board, Paul worked in commercial finance at Scotiabank, focusing on strategic advice and finance solutions to help technology companies grow and compete, and prior to that led the business development team as Director of Business Development with Plato Group. Paul has earned a place on the Dean's list upon graduating with his Masters of Business Administration and Bachelor of Commerce degrees from Memorial University.  He has also completed the Leadership Development Program at the Niagara Institute, and worked on a number of steering committees for professional associations.
